transparency

A number of people have asked me if my sculptures will be given plaster, or some kind of final skin.  I find it fascinating how many people seem uncomfortable with transparency, or even a sense of unfinished work.  I am reminded of a quote from Van Gogh, "A painting is never finished, it only ends in interesting places".  I resonate with that quote, as I could continue adding more layers to all of my work: more airplanes, more screen wire, more wood, more paint, etc., but instead I have chosen to end in interesting places.
